Peshawar HSSC exam results: Girls outshine boys

Girls outshine boys in BISE Peshawar HSSC examinationPeshawar, July 22: The girl's students of Jinnah College, Peshawar have outclassed boys by grabbing all the three top positions in the Higher Secondary School Certificate's annual examination of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar 2009. According to results, Bushara Khalid, Roll No. 50665, has topped the overall and pre-medical group of the intermediate examination by obtaining 968 marks, Sana Pervez Roll No. 50667 with 960 marks stood second while Humeria Usman Roll No.50658 grabbed third position respectively.
The position-holders are students of Jinnah Collage Peshawar. The students of Islamia College Peshawar have clinched the first, second and third position in pre-engineering group as Faheemullah Roll No. 60734 grabbed first position with 949 marks, Bilal Khan Roll No. 60689 with 945 marks and Shah Rukh Khan Roll No. 60667 with 930 marks obtained third position respectively.
In Humanities Group, Nasir Shahzad Roll No. 76246 of Islamia College Peshawar secured Ist position, Hina Habib Roll No. 71501 of Jinnah College with 875 marks grabbed second position while the third position was shared by Neelum Ali Roll No.71508 of Jinnah College and private candidate Shakeela Naz Roll No.88226.
In Theology Group, Syed Tayyib Shah of Islamia College Peshawar clinched first position with 893 marks. Overall 34557 candidates were appeared in Part-1 out of whom 22524 were declared successful with passing percentage of 65.18. In Part-I Pre-Medical Group, total 6839 regular candidates were appeared out of whom 5534 were declared successful with 80.90 percent success ratio.
In Part-1 Pre-Engineering group, a total 5610 regular candidates tried their luck out of whom 4639 were declared successful with 82.89 percent success ratio. In General Science Group, a total of 2722 regular candidates appeared out of whom 1772 have passed it with passing percentage of 65.09.
In Part-II Pre-Medical Group, 5025 candidates were declared successful out of 5813 regular candidates with 86.44 percent success ratio. Likewise, in Pre-Engineering Group, a total of 3987 passed the annual examination out of 4405 regular candidates with success ratio of 90.51 percent.
In General Science Group of Part-II, as many as 1916 regular candidates were appeared out of whom 1428 were declared successful with 74.53 percent success ratio. Overall in Part-11, a total of 32964 candidates were appeared out of whom 22296 were declared successful with success ratio of 67.64 percent.
